Second Chef – Bracebridge Court Care Home
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards in all food preparation stages to ensure resident well-being.
- Prepare and serve meals according to menus and company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations.
- Maintain the quality of meals, focusing on presentation and taste.
- Maintain portion control to minimize waste.
- Address individual dietary needs, including high calorie, low sugar, etc., using charts, recipes, or modifications.
- Maintain safe, healthy, and efficient working environments with necessary systems and checks.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items.
- Monitor stock, rotate inventory, and place orders when needed.
- Deputise for the Head Chef when necessary.
Skills and Expertise
- Relevant catering experience
- Understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements
- Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
- NVQ Level 2 (preferred)
