Clinical Psychologist – West Sussex

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of evidence-based individual and group interventions
  • Diagnostic and cognitive assessments
  • MDT working and risk assessments
  • Facilitating staff reflective practice sessions
  • Designing and delivering training to the multi-disciplinary team
  • Providing specialist psychological assessments and individualised interventions for young adults with severe eating disorders
  • Providing evidence-based psychological perspectives to multidisciplinary risk management
  • Managing a complex caseload as the individual psychological therapist
  • Facilitating group psychological interventions and family/systemic interventions
  • Monitoring clinical progress through regular reviews
  • Providing high-quality clinical supervision to the Assistant Psychologist
  • Supporting staff development through training, consultation, and reflective practice
  • Contributing to service developments within the therapies team
  • Receiving regular supervision and line management
  • Being professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of clinical work and care
  • Maintaining high standards of care in accordance with HCPC Code of Conduct

Skills and Expertise

  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent)
  • Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist
  • Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders
  • Experience working with individuals with eating disorders and their families
  • Experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma, and personality disorders
  • Post-qualification training in specialist therapeutic models relevant for young adults
  • Experience supervising and training junior members of the team
  • Experience exercising full clinical responsibility for patient’s psychological care
