Key Responsibilities
- Advising partners on repair and alteration proposals for heritage assets.
- Guiding on changes to historic townscapes and landscapes.
- Delivering projects for the conservation of national heritage.
- Improving people’s lives through heritage conservation.
- Regular travel to sites (not serviced by public transport).
- Potential site visits requiring climbing scaffolding and navigating confined spaces.
- Occasional attendance at community meetings (evenings/weekends).
Skills and Expertise
- Professional qualification in architecture or building surveying.
- ARB registration or chartered RICS membership.
- Accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA(SCA level) or RICS, or working towards).
- Extensive experience in historic building repair and project management.
- Knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture.
- Understanding of historic building construction and conservation practice.
- Proficiency in repair, alteration, and adaptation of historic buildings.
- Practical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations related to historic buildings.
