Expert Lead Cardiac Physiologist – Adult Congenital Heart Disease
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and development for all practitioners in the Clinical physiology department within the community Diagnostic Centre.
- Provide advice to external institutions, including primary care and all professional bodies within Cardiology.
- Exercise initiative and judgment in solving problems and making decisions that affect own areas of work recognizing when there is a need to refer problems to Senior Management or Consultant staff.
- Independently collates complex clinical information from multiple sources to determine optimal procedure methodology
- Independently selects, sets-up & operates complex medical equipment as indicated for each procedure
- Independently obtains, analyses complex data, performs complex calculations, determines interpretation and independently compiles accurate written complex technical reports for case notes
- Communicates independent interpretations of complex technical & physiological data to guide physicians throughout high risk provocative procedures (e.g. during complex device implantation, primary coronary angioplasty, cardiac imaging procedures)
- Regularly supervises individuals working/observing in the clinical environment including visitors from other trusts and organisation.
