Clinical Nurse Specialist Trainee – Urology
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert evidence-based advice and clinical expertise throughout the Trust.
- Delivering high-quality nursing care for people at all phases of their cancer pathway.
- Acting as a clinical resource to colleagues and championing nursing.
- Reflecting on practice, identifying areas for development, and undertaking required training.
- Involving patients and families in pathway planning and development.
- Communicating effectively, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining high standards of nursing care, based on individualized patient care.
- Assessing and interpreting patient needs, developing and implementing a specialist nurse program.
- Demonstrating analytical and interpretive skills to consider factors impacting patient needs and experience.
- Providing and receiving complex and sensitive information with patients and carers, ensuring courtesy, dignity, and privacy.
- Demonstrating empathy, compassion, and sensitivity.
- Acting as the patients advocate when relevant.
- Providing optimum liaison and coordination of care for patients between hospital and community.
- Working with minimal supervision in all areas within the specialty; assisting and undertaking nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with Trust policies and guidance, and national guidelines.
