Worship Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the worship life of the church community
  • Encourage, enable and equip others to lead worship
  • Develop, pastor, and train a worship and production team
  • Lead rehearsals
  • Oversee development of rotas
  • Coordinate all services
  • Lead worship services
  • Develop other worship leaders
  • Recruitment further develop recruitment of new team members
  • Organise teams to lead worship at various gatherings
  • Skills development understand team and individual strengths/weaknesses, create development plans
  • Identify and mentor worship leaders and musicians
  • Develop a culture of review
  • Work with Church Online team
  • Oversee and liaise with the sound team
  • Support the worship ministry team and volunteers
  • Recruit new staff
  • Provide training
  • Communicate key information
  • Open and close the building, check building cleanliness
  • Organize offering procedures
  • Coordinate with other assembly leaders
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Regular one-on-one meetings with the pastor
  • Prepare the rota for all church programs
  • Ensure members follow designated times
  • Ensure media team, choir, and program desk team follow the rota
  • Participate in prayer sessions
  • Develop a vision for worship
  • Prepare the sanctuary for worship
  • Plan worship services
  • Plan special services (baptisms, weddings, anniversaries, retreats, communion)
  • Propose new songs
  • Ensure Planning Centre is updated
  • Communicate details to relevant parties
  • Oversee track management and development
  • Manage the worship ministry budget
  • Keep updated log of equipment
  • Ensure equipment satisfies H&S requirements
  • Manage equipment storage
  • Ensure high-quality stage presentation
  • Songwriting develop and coordinate a song writing pipeline
  • Resource Development develop opportunities to resource the wider church
  • Work with church online team for special projects
