Key Responsibilities

  • Applying effective risk management and decision-making capability to anticipate and assess technology-related risks across relevant business areas.
  • Evaluating, managing, and mitigating the impacts of strategic technology and digitisation initiatives on operational risk and control profiles.
  • Providing support and regular engagement with specialist technology stakeholders (second and third lines of defence, etc.).
  • Supporting framework execution as a Technology Risk and Control expert, including risk and controls assessments, control design and articulation, control testing and policy compliance.
  • Leading informed discussions of technology and digital-related risk for relevant business areas and products.
  • Creating a culture of continuous improvement, increasing efficiency and productivity through people leadership, coaching, engagement and development of skills.
  • Producing corporate governance and risk committee packs for technology functions, formulating and articulating technology-related risk appetite.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships with technology and digital specialists.
  • Providing an aggregated view of the control environment for relevant technology and digital business areas.
  • Supporting technology and digital business area interactions with second and third lines of defence on risk and audit engagements.
  • Producing and reviewing risk committee packs relating to digital channels, including relevant MI and assessing aggregated risk profiles.

Skills and Expertise

  • Extensive understanding of relevant businesses, key products, and technology risks.
  • Knowledge of risks and controls associated with Technology, including industry frameworks (COBIT, CRISC, etc.).
  • Knowledge of technology outsourcing risks.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes and apply technology and digital risk and control assessments in an operational and strategic context.
  • Comprehensive experience in technology risk management and audit or control frameworks.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced technology risk or audit environment.
  • Experience with corporate governance and risk committees, formulating and articulating technology and digital related risk profiles.
  • Excellent communication skills to support risk management.
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills.
