Teaching Assistant – Shoreham

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to help students overcome academic challenges and develop social and emotional skills.
  • Collaborating with teachers to create and adapt classroom activities to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Supporting students during lessons, helping them stay engaged and focused on their studies.
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and behaviour.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with and inspire young learners.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or related fields (desirable but not essential).
