Aston-on-Trent Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

We are looking for somebody who can support the learning of children with SEND but also children’s learning across a range of year groups. Our staff are dedicated and passionate, with a sense of fun and commitment to every child.

We wish to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner who is dedicated to enabling pupils to achieve their personal best.

The successful candidate will-

  • Working with individual children, including children with SEND and EHCPs.
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support according to children’s needs
  • Look after children’s physical, social and emotional welfare- including first aid duties
  • Be creative and innovative
  • Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • Be committed to promoting and upholding the school values and ethos
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs.
  • Is motivated and passionate to achieve the very best for the children in our care and make a genuine difference
  • Uses initiative to assess and evaluate pupils’ needs
  • Leading intervention groups
