Key Responsibilities

  • Working with people.
  • Undertaking various training to support pupils with SEN.
  • Supporting pupils with specific needs.
  • Implementing behavioural strategies (with training).
  • Maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Working effectively as part of a team.
  • Developing good relations with staff, pupils, and the wider school community.
  • Carrying out personal care routines (with training).

Skills and Expertise

  • Basic Numeracy and Literacy skills.
  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Appropriate NVQ.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Childcare Qualification.
  • Well-organized.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload (Desirable).
  • Training in personal care (Desirable).
  • Experience working with behaviour management plan (Desirable).
  • Experience of developing and delivering individual education programmes for children with specific needs (Desirable).
  • Working within a school or special school (Desirable).
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles and willingness to undertake further training.
