Store Manager Role at One Stop

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Shift Leaders and colleagues, ensuring regular quality time on shift.
  • Foster a positive colleague culture where colleague experience is paramount through effective communication and listening.
  • Embrace a self-serve culture, using available tools to resolve queries and encourage team problem-solving.
  • Ensure adherence to standards, including proper training, warm store welcomes, pay compliance, and provision of necessary tools for all colleagues; safeguarding colleague safety, health, and wellbeing.
  • Continuously review and develop the team’s skills and capabilities for future success.
  • Manage all people leadership tasks, such as absence management and problem-solving.
  • Recognize and celebrate team contributions and performance.
  • Identify and develop internal talent, recruit top industry talent, and build a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline.
  • Manage all KPIs for the store, sharing best practices with other Store Managers.
  • Manage the operation of all store services, including Post Office Local, EvRi, and vending.
  • Implement business changes and new ways of working.
  • Ensure store operations comply with labor budget constraints for continued trading and candidate care.
  • Foster a positive customer experience, building community partnerships and contributing to local well-being.
  • Coach team members on delivering excellent customer service and retail standards.
  • Monitor competitor activity to identify opportunities and implement strategic solutions.
  • Maintain a strong health and safety culture, reviewing incidents and improving safety procedures.
  • Support team members with tasks such as serving customers, replenishing stock, and adhering to legal and safety protocols.
  • Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS), overseeing the sale of alcohol.
  • Ensure successful completion of Post Office Financial and criminal conviction checks (if applicable).

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Proven experience in store operations
  • Post Office Financial and criminal conviction check compliance (if applicable)
