Social Worker – Older Adults
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking assessments and possibly MCA and BI work.
- Supporting older people and their carers.
- Identifying and managing risks.
- Complex casework.
- Care management across health and social care settings.
Skills and Expertise
- Experience with older people and their carers (12+ months post-qualifying).
- Assessment of need.
- Complex casework experience.
- Care management experience.
- Understanding of older adult needs and carer support.
- Safeguarding knowledge.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.
- Mental Capacity Act knowledge and implementation.
- Appropriate social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- CCW/CQC registration.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Good IT skills.
- Organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Partnership building skills.
- Crisis management and conflict resolution.
- Managing challenging behaviours.
