Senior Social Care Worker Supervisor – Shetland

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to individuals in various settings, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensuring individuals receive high standards of care and support aligned with legislation and national guidance.
  • Providing person-centred support and maintaining a positive ethos promoting independence and positive outcomes.
  • Assisting with managing delivery and development of the service.
  • Supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Participating in person-centred planning to support desired outcomes.
  • Ensuring the service promotes the health and wellbeing of individuals.

Skills and Expertise

  • Proven experience in Social Care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and national guidance.
  • Experience in supervision and staff development.
  • Understanding of person-centred planning.
  • Experience working with children and young people (particularly those with trauma experiences) in a residential care setting.
  • Understanding of Through Care and After Care services.
  • Minimum requirement of SVQ3 Children and Young People (SCQF Level 7) and HNC Social Services (or equivalent practice qualifications).

Job Facilities/Benefits

  • Grade J position.
  • Distant Islands Allowance of 2,742 per annum (pro rata).
  • Up to 37 hours, 52.18 weeks per year.
  • Temporary contract (approximately 12 months).
  • Relocation package not applicable.
  • Interview expenses paid from within Shetland.
  • Ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice.
  • Potential flexible working arrangements.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) required upon commencing the position.
  • Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
