Senior Social Care Worker Supervisor – Shetland
Key Responsibilities
- Providing support to individuals in various settings, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Ensuring individuals receive high standards of care and support aligned with legislation and national guidance.
- Providing person-centred support and maintaining a positive ethos promoting independence and positive outcomes.
- Assisting with managing delivery and development of the service.
- Supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
- Participating in person-centred planning to support desired outcomes.
- Ensuring the service promotes the health and wellbeing of individuals.
Skills and Expertise
- Proven experience in Social Care.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and national guidance.
- Experience in supervision and staff development.
- Understanding of person-centred planning.
- Experience working with children and young people (particularly those with trauma experiences) in a residential care setting.
- Understanding of Through Care and After Care services.
- Minimum requirement of SVQ3 Children and Young People (SCQF Level 7) and HNC Social Services (or equivalent practice qualifications).
Job Facilities/Benefits
- Grade J position.
- Distant Islands Allowance of 2,742 per annum (pro rata).
- Up to 37 hours, 52.18 weeks per year.
- Temporary contract (approximately 12 months).
- Relocation package not applicable.
- Interview expenses paid from within Shetland.
- Ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice.
- Potential flexible working arrangements.
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) required upon commencing the position.
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
