Senior Site Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of development sites and provide clear direction to site staff regarding responsibilities and targets.
  • Manage and implement health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Motivate, support, and manage site staff, providing training, coaching, and support as needed to enhance performance.
  • Maintain site presentation at the required standard.
  • Deliver production requirements adhering to technical and planning documentation, and subsequent instructions.
  • Comply with building regulations and warranty providers’ requirements (NHBC, LABC Services).
  • Ensure accurate production/progress reports are updated and submitted.
  • Maintain adequate site records, including reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, site inductions, and health & safety records.
  • Inspect and ensure remedial work is completed before NHBC key stage inspections.

Skills and Expertise

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a high-volume residential house builder.
  • Experience effectively managing teams.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
  • Valid CSCS card (Site Manager level or equivalent).
  • Valid SMSTS certificate.
  • Valid First Aid certificate.
  • Construction Management (HNC Level 4, HND Level 5, or NVQ Level 6 – desirable).
  • Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate (desirable).
  • Valid LOLER certificate (desirable).
  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
