Senior Site Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of development sites and provide clear direction to site staff regarding responsibilities and targets.
- Manage and implement health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Motivate, support, and manage site staff, providing training, coaching, and support as needed to enhance performance.
- Maintain site presentation at the required standard.
- Deliver production requirements adhering to technical and planning documentation, and subsequent instructions.
- Comply with building regulations and warranty providers’ requirements (NHBC, LABC Services).
- Ensure accurate production/progress reports are updated and submitted.
- Maintain adequate site records, including reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, site inductions, and health & safety records.
- Inspect and ensure remedial work is completed before NHBC key stage inspections.
Skills and Expertise
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a high-volume residential house builder.
- Experience effectively managing teams.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS card (Site Manager level or equivalent).
- Valid SMSTS certificate.
- Valid First Aid certificate.
- Construction Management (HNC Level 4, HND Level 5, or NVQ Level 6 – desirable).
- Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate (desirable).
- Valid LOLER certificate (desirable).
- Effective communication and listening skills.
- Good administration skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
