Senior Radiographer – Bristol
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring patients receive the best standard of care and high-quality X-ray images.
- Delivering an effective and professional service in a dynamic environment.
- Carrying out modality-specific imaging procedures to best practice standards.
- Providing a positive patient experience from referral to results.
- Running quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Respecting patient customs, values, and spiritual beliefs.
- Performing triage functions of referrals.
- Supporting patient bookings and maintaining accurate patient information.
- Completing competency assessments.
- Adhering to operational procedures and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Working as a practice educator, assisting placement students and colleagues.
- Sharing knowledge and experience with the wider team.
Skills and Expertise
- Strong experience in X-ray, including running an X-ray department.
- Understanding of fundamental MRI and CT physics and techniques.
- Knowledge of radiographer roles regarding patient care, career development, and colleague support.
- High level of professionalism and technical skills.
- Aptitude for improving quality.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles, and GDPR.
- Flexible approach to work, able to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun).
- Strong teamwork skills, supportive, caring, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
- Positive attitude and passion for the service.
- Experience working with X-ray equipment (hospital or mobile).
- Experience in routine MRI and CT examinations (desirable).
- Confidence running an X-ray service.
- Completion of relevant courses such as infection control, manual handling, and basic life support.
- Understanding of health and safety policies and procedures related to imaging equipment.
- Strong radiation protection understanding.
- Supporting other team members’ development and training.
