Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to independent audit engagement assurance.
  • Undertaking allocated tasks within the engagement lifecycle.
  • Providing quality, efficient, and effective assurance.
  • Influencing business managers to improve controls.
  • Assessing risks and controls, and carrying out testing.
  • Contributing to assurance planning.
  • Undertaking effective process mapping.
  • Analysing MI and reviewing risk information to identify key business risks and contribute to continuous monitoring.
  • Contributing to effective audit engagement reports and opinions that influence business managers to lead in a risk-conscious way.
  • Engaging with stakeholders throughout engagements, ensuring they understand business risks through open and effective conversations on key risks.
  • Coaching auditors and supporting them to realize their potential.

Skills and Expertise

  • Operational audit, assurance, or risk management experience.
  • Strong background in providing assurance over payment processing and/or fraud prevention risks and controls.
  • Experience in performing payment scheme certifications (e.g., BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to assess and prioritize data effectively.
  • Thorough grounding in monitoring and testing effective controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to translate concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of payment and fraud regulations and operational processes (including payment processing, investigations, reconciliations, and cash management).
