Senior Occupational Therapist – Stroke & Neuro Community
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with complex presentations or multiple pathologies, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning skills (cognitive and perceptual impairment assessment).
- Interpret assessments and provide appropriate recommendations, considering equipment needs or referrals for major adaptations.
- Assess and manage clinical risk for own and delegated patients.
- Assess patient understanding, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients lacking capacity.
- Represent the Therapy service and/or individual patients at MDT meetings to ensure co-ordinated multidisciplinary service delivery.
- Work as a lone practitioner with senior Occupational Therapist support as required.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with COT Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Adhere to Trust policies and statutory requirements (Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, COSHH, Fire Safety, Complaints, Incident Reporting).
