Senior Achievement Support Assistant – Kingston upon Hull

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and caring for pupils in an EYFS setting.
  • Covering PPA and implementing effective interventions.
  • Establishing constructive relationships with pupils based on individual needs.
  • Promoting good pupil behaviour and dealing with conflict.
  • Setting challenging expectations to promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Providing effective support to maximize attainment and accelerate pupil progress.
  • Monitoring and marking pupils learning activities, using school tracking data and completing accurate records/reports.
  • Using Tapestry software to record observations and identify next steps.
  • Providing detailed feedback to teachers on pupil attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
  • Contributing to learning planning and evaluation.
  • Assisting in the recording of pupils progress.
  • Delivering bespoke intervention and enrichment programmes (literacy, numeracy, guided reading, phonics, language, motor skills, social and emotional skills).
  • Recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher.
  • Reviewing and updating medical plans for pupils with specific needs.

Skills and Expertise

  • EYFS qualification required.
  • Ability to establish constructive relationships.
  • Experience with managing pupil behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in using Tapestry software.
  • Knowledge of data tracking systems and report writing.
  • Experience in providing interventions and enrichment activities.
