Senior Estimator – Kent
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors adhere to HSE&Q standards, operating processes, company policies, and legislative requirements.
- Manage tender documentation coordination and preparation.
- Develop awareness of clients’ bid evaluation procedures.
- Plan tender documentation and pricing information effectively.
- Prepare tenders from architectural drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and pre-priced schedules.
- Understand business development, the bidding marketplace, competitor environment, and market forces.
- Attend meetings, assist in contract mobilization plan preparation, and provide tender insight.
- Manage the tender process to secure project prices from subcontractors.
- Evaluate, engage, and negotiate sub-contractor price documents, ensuring accuracy and best value.
Skills and Expertise
- Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years Quantity Surveyor or Estimator experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with a willingness to learn other software packages.
- Strong data interrogation skills.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, with prioritization abilities.
- Working knowledge of marketing and economic factors.
- Understanding of building construction/maintenance techniques and materials.
- Solid legal/contractual knowledge.
- Valid driving licence.
