Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively works with the Compliance Team to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation, protecting company services and reputation through quality audits.
  • Liaises with internal and external contractors, ensuring value for money, quality, and statutory requirements.
  • Implements a reliable quality assurance system for all work streams, using various inspection types to identify trends and weaknesses.
  • Monitors contractors and suppliers to maintain compliance with safety practices and specifications.
  • Reviews financial payments for accuracy and validity before processing.
  • Provides expert advice regarding mechanical and electrical installations for existing and new build properties.
  • Provides technical support on-site monitoring contractor standards for high quality and safety.
  • Keeps up-to-date with training, developments, and changes in legislation.
  • Assists in organizing internal and external audits, embedding action plans and maintaining property inspection records.
  • Contributes to operational plan delivery and outstanding service development reflecting Torus values.
  • Acts as a champion for change, innovation, continuous improvement, value for money, and risk management.
  • Takes responsibility for personal and professional development.
  • Promotes a positive team environment based on trust, mutual respect, and integrity.

Skills and Expertise

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (18th Edition) & maintenance.
  • IOSH Working Safely qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Commitment to continual professional and personal development.
  • Full current driving license.
  • Ability to travel to various locations using own transport with business insurance.
  • Proven track record of auditing compliance within the social sector.
  • Sound background in property maintenance and experience with ISO frameworks.
  • Knowledge and experience in surveying various property types (stock condition, fire risk assessments, HHSRS, asbestos validation).
  • Experience in the on-site management of investment and refurbishment schemes.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to property maintenance.
  • Ability to coordinate and demonstrate value for money in everyday operations.
  • Commitment to health and safety for safe operations and environment for staff and customers.
