Senior Care Assistant – HC One
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing care plans for residents, ensuring security, dignity, and independence.
- Leading a team of Care Assistants and maintaining high care standards.
- Providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities.
- Administering medication under supervision.
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided.
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Assisting Registered Nurses and Care Managers.
- Managing emergencies.
- Working with moving and handling equipment (e.g., slide sheets).
- Recognizing signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and reporting concerns.
- Attending safeguarding training.
Skills and Expertise
- Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience completing paperwork (e.g., accident forms, handovers)
- Confidence liaising with medical professionals
- Competence in administering medicines using the Emed system
- Experience with moving and handling equipment
- 6+ months experience as a senior carer in a residential setting (including dementia care)
- Ability to provide hands-on care
