Senior Building Control Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support to the team manager and Building Control Officers.
  • Registering and validating building applications.
  • Providing frontline support to external customers and agents regarding building regulation applications, initial notices, and demolition notices.
  • Raising invoices for building control charges.
  • Answering customer queries via phone and email.
  • Assisting the team manager in maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Preparing reports for statutory returns.

Skills and Expertise

  • Good understanding of Building control legislation.
  • Good technical aptitude (examining, interpreting, and measuring architectural drawings).
  • Ability to calculate floor areas and financial charges.
  • Familiarity with invoicing processes.
  • Experience using software for document processing and management systems.
  • Experience with GIS systems (beneficial).
  • Excellent communication skills (clear, confident, and tactful).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Customer-focused approach.
