Senior Building Control Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support to the team manager and Building Control Officers.
- Registering and validating building applications.
- Providing frontline support to external customers and agents regarding building regulation applications, initial notices, and demolition notices.
- Raising invoices for building control charges.
- Answering customer queries via phone and email.
- Assisting the team manager in maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Preparing reports for statutory returns.
Skills and Expertise
- Good understanding of Building control legislation.
- Good technical aptitude (examining, interpreting, and measuring architectural drawings).
- Ability to calculate floor areas and financial charges.
- Familiarity with invoicing processes.
- Experience using software for document processing and management systems.
- Experience with GIS systems (beneficial).
- Excellent communication skills (clear, confident, and tactful).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Customer-focused approach.
