SEMH Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing vital support to children and young people managing emotions, behaviors, and social skills.
  • Working closely with teachers to implement positive behavior strategies, create a safe and supportive learning environment, and help students build resilience.
  • Demonstrating empathy, understanding, and a positive attitude to build strong, trusting relationships with students.

Skills and Expertise

  • Passion for making a difference and supporting children reach their full potential.
  • Resilience and patience in supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for positive relationships with students, parents, and teachers.
  • Experience working with SEMH children, ideally in a school setting.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and effective teamwork.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children’s well-being and safety.
