Securitisation Middle Office Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing operational control and support to teams, ensuring risk identification and management.
  • Delivering day-one support for various product asset classes, including complex products.
  • Acting as a reference point for the business, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the bank.
  • Working from home some of the time, with two days per week in the London office.
  • Applying risk management principles to mitigate operational risks and improve processes.
  • Ensuring team activities adhere to approved procedures and service level targets.
  • Promptly escalating risks outside the appetite and developing remediation plans.
  • Reviewing securitisation structures pre-close to ensure booking on NatWest Market platforms, finding solutions, and guiding structuring teams.
  • Managing the lifecycle of securitisation structures post-close, creating guides, establishing controls, and ensuring adherence.
  • Providing support to front-to-back structurers, trading, and sales teams within the markets business.
  • Reviewing and advising on structures before closing.
  • Validating complex trades booked by traders.
  • Ensuring accurate trade bookings for finance teams and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Providing internal and external insights to support and challenge business decisions and enhance customer experience.
  • Staying updated on external and industry developments, representing the organization on industry groups.
  • Developing the people agenda, demonstrating leadership, and implementing plans to improve team and individual motivation and delivery.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience in structured transactions, trade booking, and validation.
  • Product knowledge of loans, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, and cross-currency swaps.
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of the banking sector and how banks raise funds.
  • Knowledge of loan, deposit, forward rate agreements, foreign exchange, bonds, and overnight index swaps.
  • Background in settlements, middle office, or confirmation teams.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
