Key Responsibilities

  • Professional leadership for Safeguarding Children and Adults within EPUT.
  • Contribution to audit frameworks for clinicians working with children and adults requiring safeguarding.
  • Providing advice, support, and supervision on safeguarding issues for the organization or other health service providers and agencies.
  • Ensuring clinical practice aligns with evidence-based safeguarding services.
  • Contribution to the development of safeguarding policies reflecting National and local legislation and guidance.
  • Ensuring policy interpretation for the organization.
  • Representing the organization’s best interests in the multi-agency arena.
  • Effective two-way communication regarding all aspects of safeguarding.
  • Delivering specialist advice and training on safeguarding to all staff interacting with children, adults, and their families.
  • Working as part of an integrated safeguarding team covering the duty system.
  • Supporting the development of Think Family services, promoting integrated care links.
  • Participating in all aspects of the Safeguarding Agenda, including Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Adults, Prevent, Honour Based Abuse (including FGM and Forced Marriage), Domestic Abuse, MARAC, Modern Slavery, and the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Adhering to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards to advise Trust staff as needed.
