Product Owner – Social Care Software

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from Product Management and stakeholders, converting them into user stories and supporting documentation (e.g., Release Notes).
  • Determine key features for initiatives/projects in a timely manner for Release Planning, maximizing customer and company value.
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritizing user stories for implementation and providing backlog visibility.
  • Act as liaison between Engineering and users, interpreting and relaying use cases and customer problems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and UI/UX, participating in scrum meetings, setting sprint goals, and clarifying/documenting user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Define “How” and “When” key features will be delivered within a Release plan, monitoring performance against deadlines.
  • Provide clear acceptance criteria for Engineering, adhering to the “Definition of Ready”.
  • Participate/lead focus groups to elicit customer requirements, including “Show & Tell” progress presentations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and stakeholders to manage dependencies, communicating issues and risks.
  • Contribute to Go-to-Market/Product Launch collateral.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer business processes and requirements, becoming a domain expert and providing demos as needed.
  • Represent Product Management, understanding the market, customer, and business to make informed decisions, focusing on tactical delivery for sprint and overall success.

  • Prioritizes user stories and conveys them effectively through agile grooming.

  • Flexible and pragmatic, responding to shifting priorities and demands using analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Accredited to the required level for the role.
  • Experience with lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Adobe XD).
  • Clear understanding of software Product & Development best practices and methodologies (e.g., Pragmatic Marketing, Product Focus, Tarigo, SAFE, Waterfall, Scrum).
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, making independent decisions and escalating when necessary for senior approval.
  • Fulfills the role of Product Owner, leading projects and taking ownership for end-to-end delivery.
