Product Owner – Oxfordshire
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements from Product Management and stakeholders, converting them into user stories and supporting documentation (e.g., Release Notes).
- Determine key features for initiatives/projects in a timely manner during release planning, creating value for customers and the company.
- Manage the product backlog, prioritizing user stories for implementation, and providing overall backlog visibility.
- Act as liaison between Engineering and users, interpreting and relaying use cases and customer problems.
- Collaborate with Engineering and UI/UX, participating in scrum meetings, setting sprint goals, and clarifying/documenting new user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Establish “How” and “When” key features will be delivered within a clear release plan, monitoring performance against agreed dates.
- Provide clear acceptance criteria for Engineering, conforming to the agreed “Definition of Ready”.
- Participate/lead focus groups to elicit customer requirements (e.g., “Show & Tell” progress).
- Collaborate with Engineering and stakeholders to manage dependencies and communicate issues/risks.
- Contribute to Go-to-Market/Product Launch collateral.
- Develop and maintain understanding of customer business processes/requirements, becoming a domain expert, able to provide demos.
- Represent Product Management, making informed decisions on market, customer, and business factors, focusing on tactical delivery for sprint and project success.

- Flexible and pragmatic, responding to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Accredited to the agreed level for the role.
- Experience managing lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Adobe XD).
- Understanding of software product & development best practices/methodologies (e.g., Pragmatic Marketing, Product Focus, Tarigo, SAFE, Waterfall, Scrum).
- Sound judgment, making independent decisions and escalating when necessary.
- Leading projects and taking ownership for end-to-end delivery.
