Praise & Worship Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with the Music Director to facilitate excellent weekly worship experiences, blending traditional and contemporary worship music.
  • Attend church services, bible studies, and church outings.
  • Arrive early and prepare for all worship services and scheduled meetings/rehearsals.
  • Establish and foster positive relationships with workers, church members, and the community.
  • Select, teach, and execute praise and worship music for services, events, and other activities.
  • In case of approved absences, ensure worship facilitation maintains a comparable standard.
  • Teach, sing with, or lead songs with choirs/ensembles as needed.
  • Independently manage praise team rehearsals.
  • Handle administrative duties for the praise team (schedules, attire, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Music and Choir Master for planning and executing worship presentations.
  • Manage the Planning Center related to praise and worship (scheduling, music uploads, etc.).
  • Provide song lyrics (formatted for singing) and other visuals to the praise team.
  • Develop quality leaders and singers within the praise team.
  • Adhere to the doctrines and tenets of Christ Apostolic Church, viewing the Bible as the ultimate authority in Christian life.
  • Maintain a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diverse worship music genres, including traditional/contemporary hymns, gospel songs, Pentecostal/Baptist styles, and contemporary Christian music.
  • Exhibit creativity and adaptability in facilitating the desired worship style.
  • Interpret the Pastor’s vision and integrate it into worship experiences.
  • Be a self-motivated individual capable of independent work and achieving results.
  • Maintain a gentle and humble spirit, embracing growth and teaching.
  • Work collaboratively with the ministry team and congregation.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience leading or performing with a praise team (2 years preferred, but not required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of different worship music styles
  • Proficiency in English, Yoruba, or Akan (preferred)

Job Facilities/Benefits

  • 30 hours per week
  • 11.45 per hour
  • Hybrid remote work
