Functional Assessor
Key Responsibilities
- Assess individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life.
- Listen carefully and gather medical history.
- Perform physical examinations.
- Produce concise and accurate reports for the DWP.
- Meet people face-to-face and via telephone/video.
- Uphold best practice standards in assessment.
- Work unsupervised with support from a wider multi-disciplinary team.
Skills and Expertise
- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with minimum 12 months recent broad-based post-registration experience.
- Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making (advantageous).
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) demonstrable on CV.
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- ECDL or equivalent (advantageous).
- Sound understanding of clinical governance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation abilities, and adaptability.
- IT skills and experience with various software.
- Self-awareness and focus on professional development.
- Integrity and confidentiality in customer interactions.
- Motivation to deliver quality customer service with empathy, respect, and sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a team environment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship not possible).
Job Facilities/Benefits
- Competitive salary: 37,500 – 43,000 + 2,000 after one year + ongoing bonus up to 10%.
- 9 to 5 hours, Monday-Friday, part-time available.
