Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator – Oxfordshire
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clinically-based practice development and education in Paediatric Critical Care (PCC).
- Role modeling best, evidence-based professional practice.
- Engaging in education activities, maximizing education delivery to support staff and patient safety/experience.
- Working alongside learners at all stages of development to facilitate learning.
- Identifying and supporting learning needs within PCC.
- Developing and updating training resources.
- Contributing to the delivery of education programmes within the Paediatric Critical Care unit and across the Directorate.
- Providing clinical leadership ensuring high-quality, individualized nursing and family-centered care for critically ill children.
- Working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, effectively communicating with all levels of medical and nursing staff.
- Upholding PCCUs Nursing Philosophy of Care.
- Effectively managing PCCU on a day-to-day basis, in the absence of a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Skills and Expertise
- Experienced and knowledgeable practitioner in Paediatric Critical Care.
- Excellent clinical and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Experience with teaching and supporting staff development.
- At least 3 years post-registration experience with a relevant Paediatric Critical Care course.
- At least 1 year experience working as a Band 6 within Paediatric Critical Care.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual.
