Key Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the strategic vision of the payroll department.
- Manages workflows and ensures all payroll transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lead and guide the Payroll Team to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- Drive digital change by introducing new systems to streamline the payroll process.
- Take ownership of the payroll function to ensure efficiency, streamlining, automation, and meeting colleague needs for confidence in pay.
- Work closely with HR and Finance teams, as well as Senior Management.
- Lead by example, providing personal development and coaching to team members.
- Be agile and open-minded in approaching new challenges, seeking opportunities to enhance project delivery through new technology.
- Participate in projects relating to the development of the integrated Payroll-HR-Finance database.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates (new hires, terminations, pay rate changes).
Skills and Expertise
- Prior experience working as a Head of Payroll.
- Excellent knowledge of pay-related legislation.
- Experience with Mitrefinch Flexipay Payroll system (One Advanced).
- Experience managing multi-site operations, salaried and hourly paid teams.
- Strong ability to manage workflows and ensure timely processing of transactions.
- Drive and enthusiasm for change and process improvement.
- Demonstrate professionalism and understanding with employees regarding pay procedures.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of complex payroll cycles and rules.
- Proven track record of building internal and external relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in negotiation and influencing.
- Problem-solving abilities in diverse teams.
- Payroll technical knowledge and insights in a fast-paced environment.
- (Ideally) Payroll qualification.
Job Facilities/Benefits
- Salary: Up to 80k per annum
- 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
