Operational Resilience Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing knowledge, skills, and support for embedding the Operational Resilience strategy and framework.
  • Supporting policies, processes, and governance across the business.
  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise on operational resilience concepts and principles, influencing business service design and supporting resources for operational stability.
  • Gaining valuable exposure and honing expertise to advance career in a challenging and rewarding role with opportunity to influence ways of working.
  • Leading and collaborating with the team to provide insights on Operational Resilience developments and risks, using analysis, experience, and judgment to provide a resilience view.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to establish strong relationships across the three lines of defence.
  • Engaging with peers across the industry in operational resilience forums and working groups, incorporating themes into the bank’s approach to resilience.
  • Monitoring and updating Operational Resilience standards, policies, and frameworks to ensure they remain fit for purpose.

Skills and Expertise

  • Operational Resilience SME with excellent knowledge and delivery of UK regulations gained through experience in a regulated financial services firm, financial regulator, or consulting firm.
  • Excellent people management skills and experience motivating others to deliver high-quality work with limited supervision.
  • Experience in designing and delivering strategy.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and collaboration skills to operate effectively at all levels, internally and externally, with strong industry connections.
  • Excellent understanding of operational resilience disciplines and regulatory expectations.
  • Good knowledge of key technology services, service delivery, and management disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of risk management and controls in financial services.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycles and the ability to articulate multiple layers of process, planning, communication, control, and form future strategy to deliver goals.
  • Retail banking experience in a dual-regulated firm.
  • Knowledge of global and EU financial services regulation.
  • Understanding of horizon scanning and threat identification for a financial services firm.
