Nursery Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily nursery activities, including play, learning, and mealtimes.
- Assist in planning and delivering activities promoting children’s development (physical, emotional, social, intellectual).
- Ensure children’s health, safety, and well-being.
- Foster positive relationships, encouraging children’s confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Assist with nursery preparation and tidying, ensuring cleanliness and organisation.
- Observe and monitor children’s progress, contributing to records and reports.
- Communicate with parents, providing updates on child development and well-being.
Skills and Expertise
- Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting (preferred).
- Caring, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting child development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of the EYFS framework (advantageous).
- Relevant childcare qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 – beneficial, not essential).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
