Nursery Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily nursery activities, including play, learning, and meal times.
  • Assist in planning and delivering activities promoting physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children.
  • Foster positive relationships, encouraging confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Assist with nursery preparation and tidying, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Observe and monitor children’s progress, contributing to records and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing updates on child development and well-being.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience working with young children in a nursery setting (preferred).
  • Caring, patient, and nurturing approach to child development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework (advantageous).
  • Relevant childcare qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3, beneficial but not essential).
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
