Trainee Non-Destructive Testing Technician – Stockton-on-Tees
Key Responsibilities
- Learning various NDT techniques and adhering to examination schemes and procedures.
- Working effectively as part of a team, with potential for independent work.
- Documenting defects through photography and physical measurements.
- Communicating with site contacts and maintaining accurate site result records.
- Producing detailed NDT reports, including test areas, limitations, and results.
- Ensuring efficient and timely completion of work.
- Adhering to company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
- Maintaining UKAS accreditation through inspection quality programs.
Skills and Expertise
- Attention to detail for identifying material flaws.
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and teamwork.
- Technical aptitude with NDT tools and technology.
- Self-motivated and organised approach.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Flexibility to accommodate travel and overnight stays.
- Knowledge of standard NDT methods (beneficial, but not essential).
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Working Environment
This full-time role is based in Teesside, with a combination of office and site work. Site locations will vary and may include:
- Confined spaces
- Work at heights
- High/low temperatures
- Noisy environments
- Dusty environments
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Qualifications: Typically GCSEs at grade C and above, although all levels of academic standing will be considered.
Experience: None required, but knowledge of or exposure to standard NDT methods would be beneficial.
Essential: A full, clean UK driving license. Able to work in the UK without restriction.
