MFL Spanish Teacher

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate secure knowledge and understanding of specialist subject concepts and skills.
  • Plan for pupil progression aligning with learning targets.
  • Set, mark, and assess homework according to school policy and engage in wider school learning initiatives.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning in all allocated classes.
  • Accurately record, assess, and report on pupil achievement, maintaining records and using assessment data for progress monitoring and targeted interventions (e.g., SEN, gifted students).
  • Contribute to schemes of learning and school/team policies as needed.
  • Maintain an orderly classroom environment fostering learning.
  • Monitor student targets and engage in behaviour management.
  • Undertake specific team duties as agreed with line manager.
  • Actively participate in meetings and professional development activities.
  • Promote school extracurricular activities.
  • Meet deadlines for reports, marking, and assessment grades.
  • Prepare pupils for examinations and participate in standardisation/moderating exercises.
  • Contribute to Citizenship education, special events, and school ethos.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for visitors and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Adhere to school policies and support the leadership team.
  • Undertake form tutor duties as required.
  • Potentially deliver lessons in subjects outside of specialism as needed.
