Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons at key stages 3 and 4.
- Implement effective teaching strategies to improve student learning and achievement.
- Develop and use assessment techniques to monitor student progress.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments in Maths.
- Use technology to enhance student learning.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Share best practices within the department and wider school community.
- Engage students through various activities (e.g., Sparx competitions, calculator quizzes).
- Provide timely and effective feedback to students using the Demonstrate and Connect policy.
Skills and Expertise
- Good degree in Maths or related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths up to GCSE level.
- Experience in assessment at key stages 3 and 4.
- Understanding of curriculum developments in Maths.
- Proficiency in using teaching and learning strategies.
- Understanding of assessment for learning.
- Familiarity with computer packages for enhancing student learning.
- Ability to use student data to raise standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to adopt new approaches.
- Pleasant and sympathetic communication style.
- Strong ICT skills (e.g., SMART board, Promethean).
