Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill teacher responsibilities as outlined in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions document
  • Meet Teachers Standards expectations
  • Manage and organize the day-to-day aspects of Maths
  • Impact educational progress beyond assigned pupils
  • Assist in school operations, including TLR responsibilities in the absence of key personnel
  • Carry out class teacher duties as per School Teachers Pay and Conditions
  • Lead, manage, and develop Maths, providing guidance and training to other teachers
  • Improve Maths standards across the school
  • Provide strategic subject leadership with up-to-date knowledge of trends
  • Review and improve curriculum, highlighting areas for development and providing data
  • Ensure curriculum continuity, consistency, and balance in the Maths area
  • Lead regular meetings with relevant colleagues
  • Develop and promote teaching and learning activities for all ages and abilities
  • Contribute to school policy, practice, and procedure development
  • Make positive contributions to school ethos and wider life
  • Work with others on curriculum and pupil development for coordinated outcomes
  • Be a proactive member of the middle leadership team
  • Lead by example with high professional and personal standards
  • Promote pupil safety and wellbeing
  • Maintain good order and discipline
  • Contribute to monitoring and reviewing teaching impact through data analysis
  • Monitor Maths standards across the school, including reviewing long-term planning
  • Manage, monitor, and account for the Maths budget
  • Evaluate, organize, and monitor resource use
  • Assist in the smooth running of the school in the absence of key personnel
