Maintenance Operative

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out maintenance tasks in and around the care home, including internal decoration, grounds maintenance, building repairs, supply management, and utility checks.
  • Working collaboratively with the home manager and maintenance team to maintain high standards.
  • Identifying and addressing maintenance needs promptly and effectively.
  • Providing support and ensuring a respectful environment for residents.
  • Systematically assessing all areas of the home and providing dedicated attention when needed.
  • Sharing knowledge and ensuring colleagues adhere to high standards.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience in similar environments
  • Solid maintenance experience, including building, DIY, cleaning, and housekeeping
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • General knowledge of plumbing and joinery
  • Innovative solution-based approach to maintenance and repairs
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes
  • Ability to work under pressure without impacting others
  • Warm, approachable, and engaging personality
