Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake biopsychosocial assessments for service users with mental health needs.
- Work with service users presenting with emotional problems, self-harm or in psychiatric crisis.
- Work with service users presenting with psychosomatic disorders and psychological issues related to physical disorders.
- Make autonomous decisions based on complex presenting problems, with access to clinical support and supervision.
- Promote carer/family involvement in care planning.
- Liaise with colleagues from other areas of health and social care to coordinate and facilitate safe discharge plans.
- Offer formal and informal training to peers and acute trust colleagues to enhance patient care.
- Share views and ideas to improve service delivery.
Skills and Expertise
- Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker
- Good clinical skills
- Motivated to further develop knowledge and practice
- Person-centred approach to service user treatment and recovery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines
