Leather Furniture Repair Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and preparing leather
  • Applying colour and finishes to leather
  • Assisting workshop manager
  • Maintaining and tidying workshop
  • Maintaining leather technician equipment
  • Lifting and moving furniture
  • Collecting and delivering furniture to customers
  • Stripping covers from furniture
  • Measuring/ordering and replacing foam interiors
  • Re-webbing and fitting dust sheets
  • Fitting feet to furniture
  • Wrapping furniture for deliveries

Skills and Expertise

  • Good eye for colour and attention to detail
  • Practical, hands-on work experience
  • Experience with hardware tools (hammers, drills, staple guns)
  • Woodwork experience (beneficial)
  • Teamwork and good work ethic
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong sense of teamwork and ability to take instruction
  • Health and safety and Risk Assessment awareness
  • Well-presented and friendly manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Good understanding of English
