Junior Maths Tutor Volunteer

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist students with their maths homework assignments, focusing on understanding concepts and developing problem-solving skills.
  • Clearly explain mathematical concepts and procedures in a way that is easy for younger students to understand.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help.
  • Help create or adapt engaging activities and games to reinforce learning and make maths more enjoyable. Help with Tutoring development such as marketing or preparation of courses for lesson, feedback improvement etc support.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the Lead Tutor or Program Coordinator.
  • Act as a positive role model for younger students, demonstrating a passion for learning and a positive attitude towards maths.

Skills and Expertise

  • Aged 16-21 years old
  • Strong understanding of primary and secondary school maths concepts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and empathy when working with younger students
  • Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and simple manner
  • Enthusiasm for helping others learn
  • Commitment to volunteering for a specified period
