Junior Clinical Fellow – Anaesthesia
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a 1 in 8 full shift rota, covering elective theatre work, obstetrics, emergency theatres, and assisting with paediatric resuscitation and emergencies.
- Day time sessions in Operating theatres and/or obstetrics, primarily under Consultant supervision.
- Undertake pre and post-operative patient assessments and liaise with surgical colleagues for optimal theatre resource utilization.
- Attend emergency calls (cardiac arrest, trauma, paediatric resus) requiring a thorough understanding of resuscitation techniques, updated yearly.
- Participate in Departmental teaching sessions, Journal Club meetings, morbidity/mortality meetings, and regular audit meetings.
- Organize and facilitate suitable audit projects for presentation.
- Seek assistance and support for the MTI application (if required) via the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
- Maintain continuous professional development through allocated study leave, aligned with Trust policy.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accept additional duties in emergency or unforeseen circumstances.
- Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and work within defined skill and knowledge levels, seeking clarification from senior staff when necessary.
