IT Technician – Greater Manchester
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and testing computer hardware, network operating systems, AV, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Basic knowledge of various operating systems (Apple MAC OS, Apple iOS, Microsoft Windows).
- Effective communication with individuals of varying technical proficiency (children, staff, external companies).
- Understanding of VOIP based telephony systems.
- Knowledge of AD (Azure AD), Entra, DNS, DHCP, and other server environment systems.
- Teamwork and building effective relationships with pupils and staff.
- Prioritising workloads, managing Helpdesk issues, and adhering to line manager expectations.
- Understanding of data protection (GDPR), confidentiality, and IT security issues.
- Awareness of potential health and safety risks related to computer and electrical equipment.
- Understanding of the safeguarding agenda for children and young people.
