Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a good degree and QTS.
  • Be an excellent teacher with the ability to inspire students in their learning.
  • Have at least two years experience of teaching and form tutoring.
  • Lead and role model on delivery of school vision, ethos, and policies.
  • Show evidence of continued educational professional development.
  • Have relevant experience of working in comprehensive and multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrate success in raising attainment and standards of teaching and learning.
  • Possess a good understanding of school leadership and management skills.
  • Have sound technical understanding of school management issues.
  • Have demonstrable experience of being part of successful school innovation.
  • Demonstrate experience of taking part in effective self-evaluation systems.
  • Be committed to maintaining a distinctive and inclusive Christian vision in the Academy.
  • Relate to young people in a positive and constructive way and inspire them to achieve more.
  • Have qualities which earn the trust and respect of students, staff, parents, and governors.
  • Inspire, motivate, and lead staff, building on the strengths and expertise of a team of tutors.
  • Demonstrate integrity, optimism, credibility, resilience, calmness, and a sense of proportion.
  • Encourage students to meet the highest standards of behaviour for learning.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relate positively to parents and other stakeholders, engaging them successfully in the life of the Academy.
  • Build constructive working relationships with local schools, external agencies, and the local authority.
  • Appreciate the balance between the academic and social development of young people, needed to create an outstanding school.
