Director of Governance, Compliance and Risk
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert advice and guidance on all governance matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating and managing board meetings, preparing agendas and ensuring accurate minutes are recorded.
- Leading the development and implementation of governance policies and procedures.
- Building strong relationships with trustees, school leaders, and external stakeholders.
- Organising and delivering training sessions for trustees and staff on governance best practices.
- Ensuring the education of the Trust Executive Team on all relevant changes in guidance and legislation in relation to the risk and compliance within a MAT and ownership of the Risk Management Framework.
- Supporting trust-wide accountability and quality assurance procedures to enable compliance in a range of areas including health and safety, recruitment and data protection (GDPR).
Skills and Expertise
- Proven experience in a governance role, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the trusts values and mission.
