Food Technology Teacher (SEN) – Lancing
Key Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing environment for SEN/ASD learners.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for engaging learning experiences.
- Adapt resources to meet individual student needs and ensure accessibility.
- Provide quality feedback to promote student progress.
- Contribute to the development of essential skills (Maths, English, life skills).
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
- Prepare and deliver lessons for recognised accreditation/qualifications.
- Inspire and motivate students through effective teaching.
- Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets.
- Maintain accurate student data for enhanced teaching.
- Positively contribute to the school community.
Skills and Expertise
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Strong knowledge of curriculum adaptation for SEN pupils
- Experience working with young people with ASD
- Preferable experience in delivering BTEC home cooking or similar courses
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to build and maintain nurturing relationships with students
- Experience managing various learning approaches, including anxiety management
- Knowledge of strategies to engage reluctant learners
- Flexibility and creativity in teaching methods
