Electrical Installation Teacher
Key Responsibilities
- Recent and relevant teaching experience as an Electrical Tutor (A/I/R)
- Knowledge of the strategies for improving student learning and achievement
- Broad knowledge of the Construction Industry
- Use of teaching and learning strategies
- Understanding of assessment for learning to improve student performance
- Confidence in using standard computer packages to enhance student learning
- Ability to use student level data to raise standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Enthusiasm for the subject area
- Creative problem-solving and willingness to try new approaches
- Pleasant and sympathetic manner; recognising potential safeguarding issues
- Effective oral and written communication with students and parents
- Communicating high expectations to all students
- Willingness to share good practice
Skills and Expertise
- Qualified to at least AET (PTLLS) level (A/I/C)
- C&G Electrical Installation Level 2 and Level 3 or equivalent (A/I/C)
- NVQ Level 3 (C)
- Qualified electrician looking for a change of direction (training will be provided) (A/I)
- Served a recognised apprenticeship (A/I/C)
- Minimum of 5 years experience on the tools (A/I)
- Relevant industry qualifications e.g., 18th Edition, C&G 2391 (A/I)
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in the discipline (A/I)
- Strong ICT skills including SMART board or Promethean (Desirable)
- Experience of assessment at Key Stage 5 (Desirable)
- Teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Desirable)
