Early Years Practitioner – Level 2/3

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver the Early Years Framework to foster children’s social, physical, psychological, and cultural development.
  • Prepare a stimulating and caring environment, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and children’s interests.
  • Participate in planning and organizing play and educational activities.
  • Enable children to transition from dependence to independence and develop decision-making skills.
  • Observe, assess, and contribute to discussions about children’s progress.
  • Maintain awareness of current education trends and attend relevant courses.
  • Continuously develop the role by identifying and addressing training needs.
  • Foster links between home and school, liaise, consult, and advise with team members and external agencies regarding children’s progress.
  • Contribute to review meetings, where appropriate.
  • Actively work to overcome and prevent discrimination.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete other relevant tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist the SENco in delivering activities for children’s individual development.
  • Assist in making resources to support activities advised by the SENco/outside agencies.
  • Provide feedback about children’s progress to the SENco, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Report problems or incidents to the SENco or supervisor.
