Design and Technology Teacher – Gloucester Academy

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Headteacher and Senior Leadership to promote inclusion and equality.
  • Share in corporate responsibility for safeguarding and promoting student well-being and discipline.
  • Progress the education and welfare of designated student groups.
  • Impact on educational progress beyond assigned students.
  • Lead, develop, and enhance teaching practice of others.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Monitor teaching and learning.
  • Make available full and up-to-date schemes of work.
  • Advise on classroom management.
  • Advise on student allocation to teaching groups.
  • Advise on staffing allocation.
  • Control expenditure allowances and fulfill Academys budgeting.
  • Ensure usage, storage, and security of facilities and resources.
  • Maintain relevant inventories.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience with industry best practices.
  • Strong focus on encouraging student love of the subject.
  • Experience in delivering world-class curriculum.
  • Excellent knowledge of key skills and knowledge for GCSE.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students.
  • Strong critical thinking and design understanding.
  • Understanding of design’s historical and cultural context.
